Our History
B&K Motors started back in 1979 when David Kemp was facing losing his job when his employer’s business closed. As a young mechanic, he decided to start his own business and went into partnership with Bevan Batham, hence the name B&K Motors. In 1993, Dave bought out Bevan, and continued running the business under the same name.
Starting out as a small workshop, Dave faced all of the challenges that small business owners meet; keeping up with workplace health and safety and industrial relations laws, financial management, staffing, and evolving his business to keep up with new technology.
Today, B&K Motors is a thriving busy workshop with a cross section of automotive technicians whose experience spans over forty years as well as some young switched on technicians starting their careers.
The business has evolved it's services to cater for changes in the automotive industry.
Dave is still involved in the day to day operations of the business and in recent years has undertaken other roles as a Director for Capricorn, a cooperative for the automotive industry, President of the Warwick & District Road Safety Committee, Warwick Rotary Sunrise, and Warwick Motorcycle Club.
